Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis has said they are unable to disclose the identity of their Saturday night headliner due to ‘contractual reasons’.
In being revealed as the Pyramid Stage’s final performer on Sunday, June 29th Kasabian have led a host of names added to the bill today, including Elbow, Pixies, Robert Plant, Jack White and Massive Attack. This after Arcade Fire were previously confirmed as the Friday night headliners.
But the 100,000 or so fans who snapped up tickets in record time last October will have to wait longer to find out the identity of their third and final main act, as Eavis explained to BBC 6Music:
“It’s just for contractual reasons, but it’ll be with you soon. We’ve got it all booked, it was all confirmed a couple of weeks ago. It’s purely that we can’t give it to you yet. The full line-up, the thousands and thousands of acts playing across the hundreds of stages, will be with you in May. This is just 80 or 90 bands, a few hand-picked to give you a taster.”
Prince and Fleetwood Mac have long been linked with a headline performance this year, as have David Bowie and The Stone Roses. Kate Bush also became a late favourite after her surprise London residency was announced last month.
