At The Drive-In have announced a headline UK show at an as-yet-unconfirmed venue ahead of their appearance at the Reading/Leeds festival in August.
The influential Texan band rubber stamped their much-rumoured reunion at the beginning of this year, and performed their first show in eleven years in Austin last April.
And with the Reading/Leeds appearances due for the August Bank Holiday weekend, At The Drive-In have officially announced a UK gig on their Facebook page, writing:
“We have a limited number of pre-sale tickets for an upcoming show in the UK – August 2012 . Enter your email to win the opportunity to buy your ticket before they are available to the general public.”
When discussing the reunion with Kerrang! recently, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez warned fans not to expect any new material from the group, insisting their return is merely a ‘nostalgia thing’.
“Will there be a new album? No, no, no,” he said. “At The Drive-In is more of a nostalgia thing – it’s songs we wrote when we were all in our 20s and we’re doing a couple of shows.”
