Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick Hodgson saved the day for The Vaccines earlier this week when he filled in after regular sticksman Pete Robertson was unable to make the band’s Amsterdam gig.
The Vaccines had already been forced to cancel the show once last year due to frontman Justin Young‘s throat problems, but were able to avoid a second postponement when Hodgson answered their cries for help. “It was great, I loved it,” he told NME. “‘Wreckin’ Bar’ was twice as fast, but other than that everything went well. I got really into it by the end.”
Following a hectic 2011 which culminated with The Vaccines’ album ‘What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?‘ being confirmed as one of the biggest selling debut releases of the year, the band will head out on another UK tour this coming May, beginning at Dundee’s Caird Hall on the 2nd.
