The Orielles by Neelam Khan Vela
The Orielles share a final preview from their upcoming fourth studio record.
The Orielles have posted their new single Wasp with Only You Left due for release this week via Heavenly Recordings.
It’s, ‘taking on another shift in perspective’, according to the band, who will play UK instores in Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool, Bristol, Brighton and London during the course of six days from March 13th.
“The lyrics follow a miniscule wasp as it reaches the height of a mountain, one of nature’s grandest settings.”
Inspired by the film Black Narcissus I wanted to capture this feeling of questioning faith, purpose and the self when confronted by such vastness, using a wasp to exaggerate this magnitude even further. In seeing through its perspective maybe we can relate to the plight of the wasp, but the real sting in the tale (hah!) is that ultimately it is nature itself that conditions the wasp to hurt us.
