The Maccabees unveil warm-up shows for summer UK tour

The Maccabees announce what are likely to be their, ‘only indoor shows of the year’.

The Maccabees will warm-up for their outdoor concerts this year with two UK gigs in July.

The band are moving into the second summer of their reunion and are celebrating 10 years of Marks To Prove It with big shows at Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds and London’s Alexandra Palace Park among those coming up, and they’ll get back in shape not long before via gigs at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh on July 6th and Newcastle’s O2 City Hall 24 hours later.

“We didn’t know it would be the last album we made at the time,” Felix White has said of Marks To Prove It.

But, with some distance, it’s the probably the closest thing to a definitive The Maccabees album, with a part of all the versions of us before in it. It was a really committed time – where all our lives and focus was going into this music for better or for worse – and ten years on, that is really something you can hear in it.
