Sijya’s new EP is out on September 12th.
A more assured approach to lyricism helped to build I Only Want To Crash from its instrumental origins to what hear today as the latest track from Sijya‘s forthcoming ‘Leather & Brass’ EP.
“The lyric ‘I know it’s safe / but let it be’ is about the fact that always trying to do something the absolute right way is exhausting,” she’s said.
Sometimes I need to take the easy way, and hope no one’s judging. The lyric I like the most is ‘Am I too much’, at the end of the song. I guess that’s about two things. Putting all this personal work and my own self out like this is strange.
“It feels almost too self-indulgent. I’m also emotionally extremely turbulent, a complete seesaw. I know that’s hard for those that are in my inner circle to handle. But they do it anyway and I hope they don’t stop.”
