CMAT @ Neighbourhood Weekender 2025 (Gary Mather for Live4ever)
CMAT will be at Victoria Park on June 12th.
CMAT has been revealed as the headliner for LIDO Festival 2026, topping a line-up which will also include the likes of Father John Misty, Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory and Katy J Pearson.
It’s a significant step for the singer-songwriter in the wake of this year’s EURO-COUNTRY album which received widespread acclaim upon its release back in August.
“EURO-COUNTRY begins its work before a note is played, the sleeve art depicting a royal-blue clad CMAT emerging from a shopping centre fountain, of itself a nod to Jean-Léon Gérôme’s 1896 painting Truth Coming Out Of Her Well,” Live4ever’s review reads.
“It’s part of a co-package CMAT describes with: ‘The album title works on three levels: the kind of country music I make, the fact that Ireland is a European country, a country run by the euro, and capitalism is one of the worst things to ever happen to us.'”
This untrivial narrative dominates the title-track; a dazzlingly cinematic framing of the 2008 financial crash and how it tore her local community (and many others across Ireland) apart. The effects almost two decades on are still angrily pervasive.
