Charlotte Cornfield by Colin Medley
Charlotte Cornfield unveils her new album track featuring Christian Lee Hutson.
Charlotte Cornfield has described Lost Leader – the latest to be taken from Hurts Like Hell – as a, ‘hard song, but also a little bit funny’.
Cornfield’s sixth studio record will be her first for Merge when it’s released on the 27th of this month after sessions at Sugar Mountain studios during January 2025.
“It’s about a tormented frontman character whose personal demons and poor behaviour are getting the best of him,” she’s explained.
The story is told in second person but there are two perspectives represented here: the struggling artist and the disappointed fan. Christian Lee Hutson sings the part of the ‘lost leader,’ and though he only has a few lines he delivers the hell out of them.
