Arlo Parks, Baby Queen, The Magic Gang and Oscar Lang are part of The Great Escape’s First Fifty.

The road to the Great Escape festival is underway literally and figuratively this week with the announcement of the festival’s initial 50 artists as it hopes to return next year.

Arctic Monkeys have shared the version of 505 which will feature on their Live At The Royal Albert Hall LP when it’s released in December to raise funds for War Child.

The Flaming Lips add second World’s First Space Bubble Concert

The Flaming Lips held their first bubble concert a little earlier this year.

At the start of this year, the sight of a band and audience cocooned in their own bubbles would’ve seemed like a particularly dystopian episode of Black Mirror.

Alas, this being 2020, it’s glorious reality and one of the few ways anyone can hope to take in some live music right now.

The Twilight Sad to broadcast stripped back Glasgow concert

Band members James Graham and Andy MacFarlane will be performing some favourites from The Twilight Sad back catalogue.

The Twilight Sad will broadcast a concert film on December 5th featuring new, stripped back versions of songs from their five studio records.

Music Venue Trust launches ‘traffic light system’ to highlight venues still in danger of imminent closure

The fight continues for Music Venue Trust.

There was some good news amidst the gloom of 2020 last month when it was revealed that 89% of grassroots music venues which had applied for aid via the UK government’s Cultural Recovery Fund were successful.
