Oscar Lang has unveiled his new album Look Now and its first track A Song About Me.

Dirty Hit will release the record on July 21st after sessions with producer Rich Turvey. “A Song About Me is a break up song that is honest and open but self-aware,” Lang said.

“I wanted to write in a similar world to you’re so vain by Carly Simon or love song by Sara Bareilles. A break up song for all the people that have had their hearts broken, it’s got bit of bite but at the end of the day means well.”

Baxter Dury is previewing I Thought I Was Better Than You again ahead of the LP’s release on June 2nd with a lyric video for its Leon track.

“A more or less factual account of what happened when Leon – my horrible class mate – and I stole sunglasses from Boots on Kensington High Street in the mid ‘80s. The reaction of the police and lack of parenting now seem to shocking since becoming a parent myself.”

Meanwhile, Dury will start European tour dates at Kite Festival in Oxford on June 11th.

Tiger is the first taste of Pip Blom‘s forthcoming third studio album for Heavenly Recordings, the follow-up to 2021’s Welcome Break.

“It’s my favourite song off the album, and quite different to what we’ve done before,” Pip said.

“I don’t want to sound arrogant, and I find these things difficult to say about my own tracks, but it’s quite an earworm! It’s good to surprise people with a new sound, and though it still sounds like a Pip Blom track because it has my voice on it and the melodies I tend to write, it feels like it’s from a different source. I wanted to be bold and do something new.”

Jonny Pierce has shared a new single – The Drums‘ leader describing I Want It All as a track which, ’emerged from the longing and the pain that stemmed from a loveless childhood’:

“It is only in the past few years that I have really begun to understand what happened to me as a boy, which has helped me start to build my own bridge towards real love. The song is a declaration – that I will take what I was never given. I want the full experience of being human, which includes love and connection. I want it all.”

The band are following up 2019’s Brutalism and, like some others, have been recently riding a new wave of TikTok fame after the reemergence on there of Money.
