The Clockworks have unveiled the studio version of Blood On The Mind as they begin work on their debut album.

“We like the idea of the feeling or emotion of a song changing or developing as you listen and we felt like this song did that by starting off with this taught, post-punk groove and then opening up and up into the instrumental,” James McGregor said.

“Lyrically, this track is about a dialogue between two very different characters. I wanted both characters to have their opinions and for the listener to decide what happens.”

After the recent radio hit enjoyed by Heatwave In The Cold North, Reverend And The Makers have announced their new studio album of the same name.

It’s unveiled with another new song, High, and will be on show live when the band head out on a UK tour in the build-up to release during February next year.

The tour is set to conclude with two hometown shows at Sheffield’s O2 Academy.

Orbital have followed up their Sleaford Mods collaboration with a video for its fellow Optical Delusion album track Ringa Ringa (The Old Pandemic Folk Song).

“It was a track made in the pandemic and I felt a real pull to use the vocal from Ring O’Roses, the original pandemic song from the Middle Ages,” Paul Hartnoll explained.

“It made me feel a connection with all those who suffered before without the help of our modern technology. The music reflects the modern world while The Mediaeval Baebes vocals take us back to the times it has happened before, an old song becomes relevant again.”

Chubby And The Gang are streaming a new festive-themed single entitled Violent Night (A Christmas Tale) ahead of its digital release on December 14th.

“I wrote this Xmas song sitting in my van freezing cold waiting to start work during the holidays,” Charlie Manning-Walker explained. “Because I’m tired of hearing the same four songs on repeat over the season.”

On the flip-side will be another new cut entitled Red Rag To A Bull – a song about, ‘How I just can’t help myself’, Manning-Walker added.
