Alan Shearer has helped Sam Fender to broadcast the news.
After a pre-sale for the original date was quickly gobbled up this morning, Sam Fender has announced a second Newcastle stadium show at St. James’ Park.
The new gig has been booked to take place 24 hours later on June 10th, more good news for Fender after he’d told NME.com upon the announcement of the June 9th concert that it would be the culmination of a long-held dream.
“No actual Geordie band has ever done it,” he said. “Brian Johnson did it with AC/DC, but they were already an Australian band that were doing well. For the whole band to be from the area and to play there, it’s a really, really big thing for us.”
Chief support for the opening night has been confirmed to come from Inhaler and Holly Humberstone, with details for June 10th set to follow.
