News Round-Up: The Beatles, Gabriels

The Beatles Revolver

Live4ever’s recap of the main stories we featured during the past seven days includes the latest Beatles classic to be reissued and a brand new record from Gabriels.

An expanded, special edition version of The Beatles’ 1966 album Revolver has been set for release on October 28th.

To go with the remastered original tracklist, this package will also put an official stamp on more of the Fab Four’s studio outtakes and alternate versions, while the Revolver EP is to present the era’s Paperback Writer single and its legendary B-side Rain.

The vinyl and CD special formats will also come with a book featuring a foreword from Paul McCartney.

After a pre-sale for the original date was quickly gobbled up last week, Sam Fender announced a second Newcastle stadium show at St. James’ Park.

The new gig has been booked to take place 24 hours later on June 10th, more good news for Fender after he’d told NME.com upon the announcement of the June 9th concert that it would be the culmination of a long-held dream.

Chief support for the opening night has been confirmed to come from Inhaler and Holly Humberstone, with details for June 10th set to follow.

Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor have confirmed the details of their debut album together as THE WAEVE.

The announcement comes after the duo found solace during that dark winter of 2020 in collaborative songwriting sessions, and after the project was first publicly unveiled back in the spring with plans for a maiden gig at the Lexington in London on May 4th, a show which would prove to be immediately followed up by the release of debut track Something Pretty.

“We’ve been locked away, busy translating the varied sounds of our songs into a dynamic live show, with the help of some great musician friends,” they had said. “We invite you to surrender to the world of The WAEVE.”

Part two is expected in March 2023, both produced by Sounwave who aimed to, ‘push the boundaries sonically that matched the intense and vulnerable feelings of each song’.

“Our debut album Angels & Queens is a unique exploration of love and loss from each of our differing perspectives,” the band said.

Sports Team have shared another track from their upcoming second album Gulp!.

Dig! is part of a record which the band promise will be, ‘a much needed pinch of salt in the thin gruel of pop culture today’, and which is due on the road for a UK and European tour from early October.

The UK leg is booked to open at the O2 Academy in Leeds and from there will move on to Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Southampton, Bristol, Norwich, London and Belfast.
