Idlewild will be playing the album in full on tour later this year.

After belatedly celebrating the band’s 25th birthday in 2021, Idlewild are now focusing on the subsequent commercial breakthrough of their 2002 album The Remote Part.

Propelled by the singles American English and You Held The World In Your Arms to the Top 3 of the UK chart that summer, the album will be repressed on vinyl exactly 20 years on from its original release date, July 15th.

“Simply speaking, The Remote Part is the most popular, commercially successful record that Idlewild ever made,” Roddy Woomble reflects. “None of our other records achieved that level of popularity. So it’s the defining record for the group.”
