Stormzy was live in London last night (March 27th).
Despite releasing it in December 2019, for obvious reasons it’s only now, two years later, that Stormzy is able to tour his second full length record Heavy Is The Head, this gig at the O2 set to be followed by another two at the same venue before more UK and Ireland arena gigs in Glasgow and Dublin.
“This imperial phase won’t last forever, so whilst there is a reflective ebb, there is also a dynamic flow, and amongst the hubris is music as casually alluring as Vossi Bop, Handsome and the soulful flecked Rainfall,” our album review reads.
“In amongst the buzz there’s still time though for empathising with the throng of admirers on Don’t Forget To Breathe, while Lessons is to all intents and purposes an open letter to his ex-girlfriend Maya Jama, humility and honesty further emotions added to a mix which has thread after thread for listeners to process.”
