Rise Against released their ‘Nowhere Generation’ album last year.

Rise Against have marked the announcement of a summer US tour with an Idles remix of Talking To Ourselves.

The ‘Inner Monologue Remix’ puts fresh eyes on one of the songs which Tim McIlrath has said he sees as neither ‘brave nor bold’: “I think of them as just common sense.”

“When you feel that no one is listening to you, you tend to talk louder, and when you feel no one notices you, you start doing things to get their attention. That’s what this song is about.”

Nowhere Generation was a big rock hit in the States, a success which will be cemented on the newly announced dates which are due to begin after a run of European festival appearances.

“Similar disenchantment haunts Talking To Ourselves, about being neither seen or heard and over-compensating as a result, while the fist pumping Broken Dreams, Inc. rails at the fate of the little people being left behind at an ever-increasing rate,” our album review reads.

“The weight of picking up the pieces that are left behind by progress-as-a-juggernaut then haunts Forfeit, an acoustic interlude that, coming halfway through, feels like a moment by which to catch your thoughts, or breath, or both.”
