Saint Etienne have set their new album for release on September 10th.

“Penlop is one of my favourite songs on the album,” Saint Etienne’s Bob Stanley says of the band’s latest single from I’ve Been Trying To Tell You.

“Sarah’s vocal makes me think of a travel guide, walking you around your half-remembered memories of the late nineties,” he continues. “Pete’s production on this is wonderful, I like the way it bursts wide open at the end, like someone breaking through from the past into the present day.”

30 years on from their debut release, Saint Etienne built their tenth studio album from samples and sounds compiled between 1997-2001, left with a finished product which Sarah Cracknell has described as, ‘both dreamy and atmospheric’.

On September 3rd, a film also entitled I’ve Been Trying To Tell You will air at the BFI Southbank in London alongside The Films Of Saint Etienne.
