The War On Drugs have our pick of the week’s new tracks after they made your editor’s year by confirming their fifth album I Don’t Live Here Anymore for release on October 29th.
The kiss-the-sky guitar which is just one part of Adam Granduciel’s genius is here kept on a leash until the closing stages, the more contemplative nature putting Living Proof in the same category as some of those past album-track classics like Lost In The Dream and Clean Living.
It was laid down when the full band convened at Electro-Vox studios in May 2019 for one of many jamming and recording sessions which have resulted in the new LP.
Others took place at still more hallowed spaces such as Electric Lady and Sound City after Granduciel, Dave Hartley and Anthony LaMarca began initial demoing in upstate New York.
