The War On Drugs have also announced a UK and Ireland arena tour for next year.

On October 29th, The War On Drugs will release I Don’t Live Here Anymore, their first studio album since 2017’s A Deeper Understanding.

Despite the long wait, the origins of the new LP go back to the time immediately after A Deeper Understanding won the 2018 Grammy for Best Rock Album, when Adam Granduciel, Dave Hartley and Anthony LaMarca retreated to upstate New York for jamming sessions which resulted in the first batch of early demos.

By the time recording had been completed, over a dozen such sessions had taken place in hallowed locations like Electric Lady and Sound City, one of which was held at Electro-Vox in May 2019 when the band’s entire line-up laid down the album opener Living Proof, which is streaming online now.

I Don’t Live Here Anymore also succeeds last year’s Live Drugs which, after a year mostly deprived of live music, was Live4ever’s #1 album of 2020.

UK and Ireland tour dates:

11 – Birmingham, O2 Academy
12 – London, O2 Arena
14 – Dublin, 3Arena
16 – Leeds, First Direct Arena
18 – Edinburgh, Corn Exchange
