A video for a 2009 demo version of Titus Andronicus Forever has been released with the announcement.

As we noted back in 2010, this shouldn’t have worked; ‘A concept album dealing with the American Civil War which contains a track that clocks in at over 14 minutes, and has only two under five’. Come on.

That it placed at #7 in our first ever Albums Of The Year list says it all though. And ten years on, Titus Andronicus’ second studio record The Monitor is being given an anniversary reissue.

“As the 10th anniversary came and went, I considered scrapping the whole thing,” Patrick Stickles has said. “But my audience has helped me so much to endure during this difficult time, and knowing how much they themselves have had to endure, I couldn’t ignore or deny that they deserve a little treat.”

“After so many years of doing whatever I want, for once, I’m going to give the people what they want.”

The new version is to be available from October 22nd, and will be performed live when the band tour North America not long after.
