RZA and his alter-ego are back after April’s Pugilism single.
RZA has announced the release of his new album RZA Vs Bobby Digital on August 6th with a new single – the pleasingly familiarly titled Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater Pt. 1.
The LP’s recording saw the Wu-Tang legend hand over production duties – which he’s held so often since the early days with that troupe – over to DJ Scratch.
“Giving Scratch the reins as a producer and me taking the reins as an MC, that’s what frees me up creatively and lets me play more with lyrical gags and lyrical flows because I don’t have to be focused on everything,” he elaborates.
“He delivered tracks that resonated and brought me back to a sound that I felt was missing. For me it was really natural for me to flow and write to these songs.”
