Bobby Gillespie and Jehnny Beth will release Utopian Ashes on July 2nd.
Bobby Gillespie and Jehnny Beth will take their first collaborative album out on a UK tour during November.
Playing two dates that month at Earth in London as part of Pitchfork Festival, the pair are also set for headline gigs in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Brighton, and will head over to France for the Paris leg of Pitchfork on November 15th.
“When you write a song you marry the personal with the fictional and make art,” Gillespie has said of the writing process for Utopian Ashes.
“I was thinking about two people living alone, together but apart, existing and suffering in a psychic malaise, who plough on because of responsibilities and commitments.”
“It’s about the impermanence of everything — an existential fact that everyone has to face at some point in their lives.”
