Sports Team are looking forward to a potentially brighter summer.
Sports Team have shared a new single entitled Happy (God’s Own Country) as the chance to tour last year’s debut album Deep Down Happy edges ever closer.
The track is set to feature on Plant Test – a collection of b-sides and rarities from the period which culminated in Deep Down Happy which is to be pressed exclusively for independent record shops.
“We recorded this at the end of last year at a time when it was hard not to feel exhausted by the scale of insincerity everywhere,” the band reveal.
“It’s a sort of Cold War Steve collage, a cut and paste diorama of cronyism, cottagecore and window-dressed Toryism, with the frustrated energy of live performance without a stage.”
