Moby has revisited and reimagined some highlights from his 30-year career.

Moby has announced the release of a new collection entitled Reprise on May 28th.

On it, an eclectic list of special guests have helped the producer to record updated versions of some of his best known anthems – such as Go, Natural Blues and Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad? – an idea sparked by his 2018 live collaboration with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Alice Skye, Amythyst Kiah, Apollo Jane, Darlingside, Gregory Porter, Jim James, Kris Kristofferson, Luna Li, Mark Lanegan, Mindy Jones, Nataly Dawn, Skylar Grey and Vikingur Ólafsson have all contributed, the first to be unveiled Jim James‘ recording of Porcelain.

“Sorry if this seems self-evident, but for me the main purpose of music is to communicate emotion,” Moby says.

“To share some aspect of the human condition with whoever might be listening. I long for the simplicity and vulnerability you can get with acoustic or classical music.”
