Lowlands Festival organisers are staying cautious after confirming artists such as Liam Gallagher, The Chemical Brothers and Arlo Parks for 2021.

Those behind the restart of Lowlands Festival have warned some of the line-up confirmed for August 20th-22nd near Amsterdam in the Netherlands may still be unable to attend should Europe’s current vaccination programme have run into problems by the summer.

If not, big names like Liam Gallagher and The Chemical Brothers will be joined by more top acts from the UK such as slowthai, Shame, Working Men’s Club, Sleaford Mods and Dry Cleaning.

“Although we are still dealing with severe measures at the moment, there is fortunately more positive news to report,” a statement reads.

“For example, vaccinations are now taking place at a rapid pace and the Dutch government’s current expectation is that all vulnerable people who are susceptible to hospitalisation will be protected by the end of June. This removes the pressure on hospitals and care, leaving room in society to move freely again.”

“We assume that this will make it possible for Lowlands to take place in a safe and responsible manner from 20 to 22 August 2021 – without a distance of one and a half meters or a restriction in the number of visitors.”
