Mogwai release their new album on February 19th.

Mogwai have unveiled the latest single from As The Love Continues, which was announced back in October.

“Ritchie Sacramento’s title came from a misunderstanding a friend of ours had about how to say Ryuichi Sakamoto,” Stuart Braithwaite explains.

“The lyrics were inspired by a story Bob Nastanovich shared about his friend and bandmate David Berman who proclaimed ‘Rise Crystal Spear’ as he threw a shovel at a sports car. The song is dedicated to all the musician friends we’ve lost over the years.”

The band’s tenth studio album proved to be a trans-Atlantic affair thanks to the coronavirus pandemic; Mogwai settled in Worcestershire whilst their producer Dave Fridmann did his thing in the US where the band had originally been hoping to record.

As The Love Continues is to be performed live at the Tramshed in Glasgow on February 13th.
