Black Honey will release their new album on March 19th.

Black Honey have unveiled their latest Written And Directed single Believer with its official video, ‘a song to accompany your existential crisis’ according to Izzy B. Phillips.

“I wanted a religious satire that was eye rolling at all the patriarchal nonsense of spiritual sense of self,” she says. “I wanna believe in me, the outsider and the underdog. It’s like coming of age, coming out and coming up.”

Written and recorded at various junctures since 2019, among the other tracks set for inclusion on Written And Directed is Run For Cover, a collaboration with Royal Blood’s Mike Kerr.

“It’s fun but on a bit of a knife edge of risk and weird,” Phillips said of that one. “Sex can be clumsy, emotional and complex. There’s so much baggage that it comes with. We wrote the song from a man’s perspective.”

“It felt empowering to flip it to the female gaze. I think I’m exploring both power and my weakness in equal measure. We wanted it to sound manic – like Hives meets John Travolta, hips swinging. I love this song. I hope it makes women find themselves and dump their boyfriends.”
