The War On Drugs and The Cribs are both part of New Music Friday – check out LIVE DRUGS and Night Network below.

The War On Drugs‘ first live album, crafted from ten years’ worth of live shows, is aiming to show the evolution of Adam Granduciel’s live set-up during that time, all brought together with the help of co-producer, guitar tech, stage manager and friend Dominic East.

“Sometimes rugged, sometimes intimate, the band’s music has increasingly become a thrill to get enveloped in, whether at a show or alone,” our review reads.

“Opener An Ocean Between The Waves channels all of its apparent strands – freewheeling 80’s AOR, the E Street Band, Tom Petty, country rock – and shakes them out in a design struck through with romanticism and a view of an American dream which offers succour.”

The Cribs‘ eighth album, meanwhile, is out after a week’s delay, but what’s another week when the sessions in Los Angeles at the Foo Fighters’ Studio 606 can be traced all the way back to the spring and summer of 2019, some time after spent ruminating over their future as a band.

“Towards the end of last year, we honestly could not even begin to imagine coming back and were seriously questioning our future as a band — it felt almost like a distant dream or something,” they revealed.
