Tame Impala’s debut album is to get a fresh take next year.

It seems like a long old time ago now since Kevin Parker’s psychedelic, trippy tones were drawing strong comparisons to John Lennon, flooding Tame Impala with early praise from Noel Gallagher and many more of the late Beatle’s acolytes.

So whilst the continued sonic shift found on the 2020 studio album The Slow Rush might have left the Beatles juxtaposition firmly in the past, the opportunity to bring those memories back will be there in March 2021 when Innerspeaker gets a 4LP reissue.

Like someone who was forced to spend a special birthday in lockdown this year, the occasion of Tame Impala’s debut album’s 10th anniversary will be celebrated a little late given its original release in May 2010, but there’ll be plenty on offer when it does arrive.

Included in the expanded deluxe edition are new mixes of Alter Ego and Runway, Houses, City, Clouds, while instrumentals, demos and an entire vinyl side dedicated to the previously unreleased ‘Wave House Live Jam’ are on there too.
