Pale Waves took their time before releasing their debut long player My Mind Makes Noises, and they’ve been doing the same since.

“Isn’t this album already out?,” our review opened.

“It certainly feels like it’s been coming for a long time, but that’s probably testimony to the ripples Pale Waves have been making for a number of years now. Joint songwriters Ciara Doran and Heather Baron-Gracie first met at university in Manchester in late 2014 and after bringing kindred spirits Hugo and Charlie into the fold some time later, began uploading songs the following year.”

The time now seems to be right though for a follow-up, over two years on from its release (a gap only plugged by the SkinDeepSkyHighHeartWide contribution to the soundtrack for Floria Sigismondi’s 2020 horror The Turning), and the band were on their socials yesterday posting a 14-second teaser of their new single ahead of its full premiere next week.
