The Avalanches by Grant Spanier
The Avalanches have shared the collaboration with Leon Bridges which is due to feature on their new album We Will Always Love You.
Although Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi’s third album together as The Avalanches isn’t out until December 11th, we’ve already heard a generous amount of the record, Interstellar Love being the seventh preview of a collection which is packed with other collaborators such as Blood Orange, Rivers Cuomo, Jamie xx, Tricky, Neneh Cherry and Sampa The Great.
“Leon is an incredible singer, with just the most beautiful voice,” Chater says. “He’s from Texas but we both happened to be in LA at the same time, which was lucky as he was on my all-time wish list. When we were in the studio, I told him the story about Ann Druyan and Carl Sagan and how her love-struck brain waves were sent out into space on the Voyager’s Golden Record. And this this song came out of that.”
