Stevie Wonder has launched his own record label So What’s The Fuss Music, initially for the release of two new songs.

This brings to an end one of the greatest artist/label partnerships in pop history, Wonder leaving Motown after more than half-a-century to put out Where Is Our Love Song and Can’t Put It in The Hands Of Fate. The former has a guest turn from Gary Clark Jr. and dates way back to the veteran’s teenage years, while the latter features Busta Rhymes, Rapsody, Cordae and Chika.

“It is a song that really I started working on when I was 18, not even knowing what the song was going to be about, but I had the melody,” he’s said of Where Is Our Love Song. “Then this year came all the confusion and all the hate and all the east versus west, left versus right.”

“I was thinking about where we are in the world,” he continued on Can’t Put It in The Hands Of Fate. “And I was thinking about how this is most crucial time. Not just black people or people of colour but young people everywhere are going, ‘This is not acceptable’. Change is right now. We can’t put it in the hands of fate. Ain’t nobody got time to wait.”
