Small Moves Records has been launched this month with a collaborative EP featuring artists such as The Lounge Society and The Orielles.
Helmed by Jez Kerr of A Certain Ratio along with Higuera Records’ Steve Brown and Factory alumni Trevor Johnson, the new label’s aim will be to focus everything on the talent, something in evidence on the Golden EP’s lead track Voices Are Golden, which showcases the vocals of Kerr’s former ACR collaborator Denise Johnson, who sadly passed away in July.
“Small Moves Records is born out of a collective love of independent labels, great records, made by great musicians,” Kerr says. “Steve, Trevor and I will be carefully signing artists, who we believe in from the outset, working closely with them to nurture their talent and make the records that create the next generation of musical icons.”
