New Order have shared a Renegade Spezial version of their recent standalone single Be A Rebel.
The work is an extended version of the one which has been soundtracking an Adidas Spezial promo featuring English National Ballet dancer Rentaro Nakaaki, and is one of several remixes which are set to feature on the digital bundle of the single when it’s released on November 13th.
Be A Rebel had been originally intended to accompany New Order’s autumn tour dates, but with those on hold for reasons which need no explanation, the band decided to press on with its release anyway. “In tough times we wanted to reach out with a new song,” Bernard Sumner said.
“We can’t play live for a while, but music is still something we can all share together. We hope you enjoy it…until we meet again.”
The joint ‘Unity’ tour of North America with Pet Shop Boys is instead now earmarked for September and October next year, while a headline date at the O2 in London is also coming late in 2021.
