Johnny Lloyd is streaming new single Real Thing with Cheap Medication, his second solo album in as many years, set to arrive on October 30th.

Whilst the live reunion of Tribes is coming up – albeit in April 2021 now thanks to lockdown – Lloyd is still paying close attention to his solo work and is aiming to keep this album-a-year business a regular one. “That’s exactly what music is for me,” he says of the LP. “Well, ‘free medication’ I suppose it should have been called. It’s a cheap, medicinal thing I use to get me through whatever passage of the day that I need it to.”

“It’s about finding your purpose to be with the person you’re meant to be with,” he continues on Real Thing. “I wanted to write a rock’n’roll love song, instead of a cliched one. It’s rough around the edges, but it’s definitely a love song.”
