British Sea Power will give their second album Open Season a re-release later this year to mark its 15th anniversary.

The updated, expanded version is to offer plenty of bonus features from November 6th, including radio sessions, b-sides, rarities and new sleeve notes. “We recorded versions of Please Stand Up and How Will I Ever Find My Way Home at Rockfield,” guitarist Martin Noble recalls in those notes.

“Then we ended up with some spare time so we decided to try a song Yan had demoed. Woody set his drums up in the courtyard quadrangle and we used echo reflections from the buildings, plus reverb from a disused well. There are also some nesting swallows on the tape. That recording became North Hanging Rock. It turned out beautiful – one of those surprises that goes beyond anything you expected from a demo. You can hear Scott walking on the gravel.”
