Performances took place at various locations across New York last night as the MTV VMAs adapted to the ongoing coronavirus restrictions for its 2020 ceremony.
The lockdown was recognised with two new categories at the ceremony – Best Music Video From Home and Best Quarantine Performance, won by Ariana Grande / Justin Bieber and CNCO respectively – while Lady Gaga picked up numerous big prizes including Artist Of The Year and Song Of The Year.
Coldplay took home Best Rock thanks to Orphans and Machine Gun Kelly came out on top in the Best Alternative section.
