As expected following their return last month with the new single For Sure, Future Islands have confirmed their sixth studio album for release later this year.

As Long As You Are will succeed 2017’s The Far Field on October 9th, and is set to be their first with the permanent addition of drummer Mike Lowry. It was co-produced by the band in the company of engineer Steve Wright. Another preview, Thrill, is streaming now in accompaniment of the announcement.

Despite releasing their debut album Wave Like Home back in 2008, it took 2014’s Singles – and more specifically the viral Letterman performance of its big hit Seasons (Waiting On You) – for Future Islands to break into the mainstream as they went Top 40 in both the UK and the US for the first time that year.
