Fontaines D.C. might have missed out to the Taylor Swift marketing machinery on the main rundown, but their new album A Hero’s Death has proved to be the most popular at Britain’s leading record shops during the past week.

The band top the UK Record Store Chart with their second studio album, leading an entirely new Top 5 which also features Creeper, The Psychedelic Furs, Dashboard Confessional and Max Richter.

The Official Charts Company launched the UK Record Store Chart in 2012 to reflect the last decade’s drive to support independent music outlets and the concurrent surge in vinyl sales. It is compiled from the best selling albums at 100 of Britain’s leading independent music shops.
