FKA twigs, Arlo Parks and one of the previously announced winners, Little Simz, grabbed the headlines at last night’s virtual AIM Awards.
Independent music was celebrated with the award of Best (Difficult) Second Album to FKA twigs’ Magdalene and the naming of Arlo Parks – whose Black Dog track remains a regular on Live4ever’s stereo – as the ‘One To Watch’, while as we already knew before yesterday’s socially distanced ceremony, Little Simz was given the Pioneer Award.
Undoubtedly of note too was the thoroughly deserved prize of Best Small Label to Speedy Wunderground.
