Doves have put Ireland on the agenda for when they hope to be touring their new album The Universal Want in the spring of next year.
Various major UK cities such as London, Manchester, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield and Glasgow are in the diary for a visit during March and April 2021 in support of the release of Doves’ first LP in more than a decade on September 11th, and Ireland is now in there too with dates at the Dublin Olympia and Belfast Limelight slotting in on April 6th and 7th respectively.
“It’s definitely got the stamp of ‘the time’ all over it,” Jez Williams has said of The Universal Want. “Everything on the album is an echo. It’s an echo of what we were going through at the time. Getting back together, the Royal Albert Hall and everything else.”
