Will Butler is streaming Close My Eyes with his Generations solo album due later this year.

Whilst Win and Régine keep their minds on all things Arcade Fire – most recently marking the the 10th anniversary of The Suburbs with a new video for Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) – Will is focusing on his second solo effort which is out on September 25th.

“I tried to make the lyrics a straightforward and honest description of an emotion I feel often – a drive for change coupled with despair,” he’s said of the single. “‘I’m tired of waiting for a better day. But I’m scared and I’m lazy and nothing’s gonna change’. Kind of a sad song. Trying to tap into some Smokey Robinson/Motown feeling – ‘I’ve got to dance to keep from crying.'”
