Oasis‘ first appearance at Glastonbury has been added to the schedule for the BBC iPlayer’s pop-up Glastonbury channel which will launch at the end of this month in place of the festival taking place this year.

Past sets confirmed for the iPlayer have so far primarily been from more recent years – such as Idles in 2019 and FKA twigs in 2015 – but the Oasis performance will take viewers much further back to 1994, while highlights are also planned for BBC Two on Friday, June 26th; the same channel where previous celebrated headline gigs from the likes of David Bowie in 2000 and Jay-Z in 2008 air to be aired.

“There are so many memorable sets being played across the BBC over what would have been our 50th anniversary weekend,” Emily Eavis have said. “Personally, I’m looking forward to a weekend of reflecting on the history of our festival and going back to some classic performances from David Bowie, Adele, REM, Beyoncé, The Rolling Stones, Jay-Z, Billie Eilish and lots more. Me and my dad will definitely be watching!”

Just a year on from their afternoon NME Stage (now Other Stage) booking, Oasis were topping the main Pyramid Stage, and were back there again in 2004.
