Fontaines D.C. have confirmed their second studio album A Hero’s Death will be released on July 31st.

The title-track has been shared too, frontman Grian Chatten’s fervent delivery taking things up a few notches when compared to the live previews the band had been offering on recent tours. According to Chatten, it was written, ‘during a time where he felt consumed by the need to write something else to alleviate the fear that I would never be able follow up Dogrel’.

Bob Dylan has announced his new album Rough And Rowdy Ways for release on June 19th.

It’ll be Dylan’s first collection of original material since the widely acclaimed Tempest of 2012 after a run of covers LPs between 2015-2017.

Paul Weller has released his new single Village, the second from his On Sunset album which is due on June 19th.

“It’s a response to being told that we’ve all got to explore the Amazon and climb Everest to make our lives complete,” Weller explains. “And there’s a guy who says, ‘f**k all that, I’ve got heaven around me’.”

Launched with an official lyric video, Tomorrow’s World has been inspired by the Muse frontman’s experiences during the current lockdown. “I have been reminded of what really matters in life and have discovered growing optimism, appreciation and hope for the future,” he says.

The death of Kraftwerk founding member Florian Schneider has been announced. He was 73 years old.

His co-founder Ralf Hütter confirmed the ‘very sad news’ in a statement, writing that, ‘his friend and companion over many decades has passed away from a short cancer disease just a few days after his 73rd birthday’.

Jehnny Beth has released Heroine with her debut solo album To Love Is To Live scheduled for June 12th.

“When I think of this song, I think of Romy from The xx strangling my neck with her hands in the studio,” she says. “She was trying to get me out of my shell lyrically, and there was so much resistance in me she lost her patience.”
