Thom Yorke introduces new song Plasticine Figures on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Thom Yorke introduced a brand new song whilst performing at-home for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night.

Yorke had earlier shared the lyrics and music for Plasticine Figures on social media, and it’s described as ‘newly finished’ after being uploaded to YouTube.

The current situation has interrupted a prolific solo period for the Radiohead frontman which really got going just under a year ago with the release of ANIMA. There’s since been the Not The News remix EP, an Oscar nomination for Daily Battles – his contribution to the Edward Norton crime drama Motherless Brooklyn – and plenty of touring.

Indeed, tour dates were set to continue in North America and Europe this year, but have of course been put on hold. “Due to restrictions put in place to minimise the spread of COVID-19, we regret that the North American leg of the Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes tour is postponed,” a statement confirmed in March.
