Sam Fender has released his cover of Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black which was originally recorded earlier this year for the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge series.

“Back To Black is such a long-standing favourite of mine, and Amy remains a national treasure,” he says. “I love that album too, I hopefully did the track some justice. You’ll all be the judge of that.”

It’s out with Fender’s March tour of the UK rescheduled to August and September, this after a series of his own postponements due to ill health during the past few months. “I’m gutted to have to do this again,” he said back in January.

“I’ve had an absolute shocker with my health. It’s been a series of unfortunate events this last month with chest infections, laryngitis and a family bereavement, and now I’ve come down again with tonsillitis. I’m raging, all I want to do is get back out and sing, but I just can’t.”

Tour dates:

August
3,4 – Victoria Warehouse, Manchester
25,26 – Barrowlands, Glasgow

September
14 – First Direct Arena, Leeds
15 – Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff
17,18 – Alexandra Palace, London
21 – Utilita Arena, Newcastle
