New Order and Pet Shop Boys will embark on a co-headline tour of North America later this year.

Two bands inextricably linked by genre, era and collaboration, their joint tour will begin on September 5th in Toronto, while there’s another Canadian date in Vancouver on the 24th. The rest of the tour focuses on the US, and is due to end at the Hollywood Bowl on October 2nd.

For Pet Shop Boys, it’s one of the biggest live announcements after the release of their Hotspot album last month. “Admirably there’s also still a willingness to take risks,” we said.

“If I Don’t Wanna deals tenderly with the contemporary issues of masculinity and lack of self-esteem, bringing Olly Alexander of young pretenders Years & Years into the tent (on Dreamland) could’ve ended up looking like an a cynical attempt at projecting youth by association, but on it both sorcerers and apprentice are suitably energised.”
