Massive Attack have said they will tour Europe by train to play their part in the fight against climate change.

Speaking to the BBC, Robert Del Naja, better known as 3D, said the ‘high-carbon lifestyle’ which musicians have enjoyed needs to change. “As a society we’ve all existed in a fossil-fuel economy for a long time and had very little choice in that,” he continued.

“The challenge now is to not only make personal sacrifices, but to insist on the systemic change that’s needed. Business as usual is over.”

Massive Attack travel to France for a gig at the Théâtre Antique in Vienne this coming June, and also Les Eurockéennes in the same country the following month. Another European date is booked for the Best Kept Secret festival when they will be one of the main acts along side The National and others such as Fontaines D.C., Belle And Sebastian and Metronomy.
