Whilst their debut album Dogrel hogs the top position on 2019’s Album Of The Year lists, Fontaines D.C. have revealed the recording of its follow-up is complete.

Guitarist Carlos O’Connell has told LongLiveVinyl their decision to record in Los Angeles was taken due to the songs’ Beach Boys influence, and that sessions were finished in October.

“We did it all in October,” he said (via NME). “That’s been my real favourite moment of 2019, making the new record.”

“I don’t know how we’ve found time to do it all, but we have. We’ve made it in LA, as this record is a lot more influenced by The Beach Boys, so we wanted to go to California. These songs are much more considered, in the details of the song arrangements.”

Dogrel was this week named as Live4ever’s Album Of 2019, check out the list in full right here.
