Arcade Fire will headline Krewe du Kanaval next year, the New Orleans festival founded by Win Butler and Régine Chassagne with Ben Jaffe of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

Its theme for 2020 is ‘Merci Haiti’, and will take place on February 14th at the Mahalia Jackson Theater. “Krewe du Kanaval was created to honor New Orleans’ creole culture with its Haitian and Caribbean roots – a piece of this city’s history that is very important to me,” Chassagne has said.

“Our Krewe hopes to join the amazing people of New Orleans carrying this torch and carve a place in the Carnival tradition to explicitly pay tribute to these roots.”

Jaffe’s Preservation Hall Jazz Band are booked to perform too, as are Jillionaire, Pierre Kwenders, Michael Brun, Lakou Mizik and ‘many more special guests’.
